Extraordinary Greetings

"In a world of high tech confusion, It's nice to know that still hand writes notes."

I for one still love to write.  I know, it's beginning to sound like a clique of sorts, but yet so true in that some rarely correspond via cards and letters.  Well, here's a shop and creative artisan that may have you reconsidering.

Allow me to introduce you to...

and her Etsy shop...

Dee's creativity has inspired me to share exactly that, "A Few Of My Favorites".

To start off, I'll share with you my favorite.  A favorite in that Dee combined a beautiful vintage card with her wonderful creativity that to me is reminiscent of an outfit Mattel created for Barbie, which is that of...

"The Red Flare" ensemble.

The combination of vintage cards with her creative style reflects her passion in card creating.

Here it's displayed in this lovely embossed and glittered "A Merry Christmas" greeting card.

"Sleigh Ride" for a holiday tree is a favorite and lends to my imagination in that how wonderful it would have been to get bundled up, hitch the horses, and trot off into the woods to gather the family Christmas tree.

This beautiful card that puts together the meaning of Christmas with Dee's use of a vintage Victorian card depicting two Angels with our Savior Jesus Christ in this.

A beautifully created card and example of what Christmas is truly about, wouldn't you agree?

Not only will you find and browse Dee's lovely array of Christmas cards, but also lovelies for the coming year like this adorable "Vintage Victorian Girl" Valentine greeting card.

Why not set one aside for Mom with this "Vintage Victorian Woman" in feathered hat with embossed designer paper card with handmade rose.  It's never too early to buy for Mom.

You may laugh at me now, but yes Summer will be upon us before you know it.  Share some love with that wonderful Sister or Best Friend with this pretty

"Vintage Bathing Suit" clad Summertime girls.

Dee doesn't stop at just greeting cards.  She also carries other nice vintage goods and gifts like Women's Accessories and Clothing.

We hope you'll stop by soon and browse Dee and Richard's wonderful creative works and her selection of vintage goods!

Tenaciously Talented

"It is rare in this world that you can hold something that is unlike any other in the world!"

While browsing the halls of Etsy, I found this beautifully unique and creative shop and owner who's works inspired me to feature as my newest Artisanista.  I introduce you to this wonderful artisan and her shop ....

We hope you enjoy.

Who is the person behind the scenes at SecretPocketBook?

"The woman behind SecretPocketbook goes by "M.D." I can honestly say that I am one of the most tenacious, obsessed with "creative" expression and completely head over heels in Love with etsy! I thrive when I create something, I love building anything with my hands. When I finish creating every book clutch or booksafe, I am still in wonder and so grateful that I get to make such wonderful use full items!"

What or who is your inspires you to create your wonderful items?

"Gosh, I am so inspired by the vintage books that I make into booksafes, or Book Clutches... and the stories from customers who tell me about the story behind why they have ordered the one that they have! I think the "thing" if it can be classified as a "thing" is the time and energy that I put into making each one of the booksafes, and book clutches and turning it into something fun, novel and unique!"

Which of your creations is/are your favorite?

"My favorite creations are the book clutches that I make, each one is so different from the other, it is rare in this world that you can hold something that is unlike any other in the world! Truly a one-of-a-kind book clutch, for the woman who is a one-of-a-kind!"

If you could have your items sold in any store besides Etsy, which would it be?

"Does ellen degeneres website count? I would love the opportunity to make my items with proceeds to go to charities for animals, I am a dog lover. As I go forward in my adventure, I really feel that in my soul, my divine purpose is to help with our four legged friends! A great attribute of mind, body and soul...helping our best friends!"

Where else can readers go to find more on SecretPocketBook?

"I really am not very good at social media, etsy is the only place so far that my Secret Pocket Book lil' shop is...and I figured with their audience in the millions, every day...odds were going to be on my side to start my little book clutch nitch in the world of the world wide web!"

Now for a little fun...

One word that describes you best?

"Tenacious. When I was a child, I was told I was stubborn, now that I have come of age. I find that the definition of tenacious fits me a little better! Tenacious: ("you're tenacious and you get at the truth", synonyms: persevering, persistent, determined, dogged, strong-willed, tireless, indefatigable, resolute, patient, unflagging, staunch, steadfast, untiring, unwavering, unswerving, unshakable, unyielding, insistent;)."

If you were an animal, what would you be, why?

"I would be an eagle, to fly on the level of the heavens, and to experience freedom, peace of mind and freedom...an eagle that soars above all the worries and illusions of the worries here on earth. No war, no worries, just peace."

If told you had to, would you base jump or skydive, why?

"Could I do both?

I would love to do either, not much really scares me too much...except spiders!"

A face only a Mother could Love!

Who is your favorite musical band?

"I have a collection of music....

anything that moves me!"

How about theses guys?

And Lastly....

Living or deceased, what famous person would you most like to meet, why?

"Gosh...Martha Stewart or Ellen Degeneres! Martha Stewart is a DIY Empire, and very savy...so I would meet her with a million questions! Ellen makes me laugh, she exudes such a wonderful light, and her comedy is witty, smart, and clean! There isn't an episode that goes by that I don't laugh and dance, she is what the world really needs more of. Positive energy, love, and laughter! :)"

We hope you enjoyed the interview with M.D. and that you'll stop by to visit her Etsy shop and browse her wonderful creative works!

Feathered Adornments

This clever and witty gal is a new found friend from my Etsy team Vintage Vertigo.  She hails from the state of Wisconsin and owns not one, but two Etsy shops.  This feature covers the crafty crafter side of this wonderful Etsian as she lends to what it is to be an "Artisanista".

of Etsy shop...

Has reluctantly (LOL) agreed to share with us a little about herself and her awesome creative works.  We hope you'll enjoy the visit.

Who is the person behind the scenes at EarthLites?

"I think I am multiple people.

 I am an Artist,

a Seller of Antique and Vintage Items,

a Musician (Keyboard and Acoustic Guitar).

I like to think of myself as a writer as well.

I have just begun blogging but have written for a long time. Nothing published except my blog and have published a poem several years ago.

I am happy but can get moody when I am on overload and can usually adapt to any situation. I get along with most people of any age. I like camping among the things listed above. I used to cook and entertain often, but my time is too limited these days."

What brought you to open an Etsy shop?

"I bought a pair of Feather Earrings from the other "E"... looked at them and thought... Hey, I can do that!

I made friends with the seller ( we are still friends to this day three years later). She helped me get started, told me what to order (besides feathers, of course).
She hadn't been creating feather earring very long, so we learned together.
She is the one who told me about Etsy, which is where she sold destash.
Feathers were trending at the time, so away I went and my shop did very well.... until they stopped trending."

What inspires you to create such works?

"What inspires me to create would be the finished product.  I am rarely unhappy with it.  There is one pair that just won't sell!
I guess no one likes yellow! Ha! On second thought... I'm not sure if they're even listed!"

Get them listed Dorene, get them listed!!

Do you have a particular favorite?

"My favorite is my most recent creation. It is a hair extension with a matching earring. I would consider the design to be Native American/Boho/Hippie. I love it and wouldn't mind having one for myself! I'm an old Hippie at heart. Well, not just at heart. :)"

Let's have a little fun....

"I knew we'd be getting to the fun part eventually!"

One word that best describes you?

"Unpredictable"

Here Dorene, I found this for ya, hehe...

What's the funniest prank anyone's ever pulled on you?

"No one ever DARED to prank me! Everyone who knows me, knows they would get double pranked back (or hurt)! I really can't think of ever being pranked."

Awwww, not even this one...

Teehee!!

What's the funniest prank you've pulled on someone else?

"I did a good one to my husband, but let's go with April Fools Day where I worked. I had a key and went in early. I took some packaging tape and taped down all the handsets of the phones (you couldn't see the tape). I watched as everyone tried to pick up their phones. It wasn't easy with the type of tape I used. They suspected one of the guys in back at first, but they weren't laughing when they said they didn't do it.

I tried so hard not to laugh but it just came out."

What is the most essential item in your home?

"The most essential item in my home is my laptop. Even before my Etsy shops, I HAD to have my laptop! If I lose my connection, it's immediate panic and pacing! Thank goodness my Grandson lives with us now. He is a Computer Tech so if he's home, 9 times out of 10, he can save the day."

I remember those old laptop convertibles!!

We hope you've enjoy this little visit with Dorene and we do hope you'll stop by to visit her at
